You will no longer find the tone adjustments for one string interfering with another due to the more even tone across the strings. You will no longer have to adjust your attack depending on which string is being played due to the more even tension from string to string. The G-string retains warmth and normal tension compared to extending the scale of all strings.
Why Fan-Frets you ask?: No longer will the B-string sound darker and less distinct compared to the other strings. The frets of the Combustion (and all Dingwall Basses) are fanned to allow for a longer scale on the bass side and a shorter scale on the treble side of the instrument, optimizing the scale length and intonation of each string individually.
Final setup and inspection is done in the Dingwall shop in Canada so you know the basses will play great right out of the box. By combining North American sourced materials and components with Chinese manufacturing Dingwall is now able to offer many of their tonal and performance advantages at an extremely affordable price. The Combustion Series is a break-through in terms of performance per dollar. This beautiful Dingwall Combustion 4-string Bass is in their Vintageburst finish, with figured Quilt Maple Top.
